The Be Like Griff Foundation was formed in June 2022 in honor of United States Army Sergeant, Daniel Lee Griffith, otherwise known as Griff. Griff was an Oldham County native who was tragically killed on December 14, 2021, when a box truck rear ended his vehicle on I-71.
Griff graduated from Oldham County High School, then served our great nation for 8 years in the United States Army, earning the rank of Sergeant. Once his service ended, he returned home to dedicate his life in service to fellow war veterans and their families. His dream was to be a trained and certified mental health counselor serving Oldham County families right here in Oldham County.
At the Be Like Griff Foundation, our mission is to provide our community with a helping hand, specifically reaching out to veterans and their families in need. We strive to ensure that our veterans' needs are met by connecting them to the essential resources required for their well-being.
Laura Criswell, Griff's mother, founded Be Like Griff to continue Griff's mission of supporting veteran families and helping to meet the unmet needs of children in our community. Funds raised are returned to Oldham County veteran families, to assist with basic needs, home renovations, counseling services, and scholarships for veterans' children.
